Matthew Owens

Matthew Owens is a high school mathematics teacher leader at Aspirations Diploma Plus High School in Brooklyn. He was named a 2015-16 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow where he served his 11-month fellowship at the National Science Foundation in STEM teacher leadership and social justice in Mathematics Education. He is a renowned National Instructor for Texas Instruments’, Inc. and a 2011 Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Matt has served as an AP Reader for AP Calculus AB while teaching AP Calculus AB for 10 years. He works closely with NYC schools that implement Vertical Teams and Lab Classrooms as a way to support teams striving towards equity and access work in STEM education and teacher leadership.
