Teaching for Equity and Justice in NYC Public Schools

Please see the Teaching for Equity and Justice Flyer for the 4-part, Facing History’s Teaching for Equity and Justice (TEJ). Facing History is partnering with our Office of Equity and Access IB/CRE Team to host this series for middle and high school educators. I hope members of your school community will be interested and available to participate in this powerful and timely professional learning opportunity. While not required this year, we do strongly encourage up to 3 educators from the same school to register so that they can collaborate on using these tools after the series.

A few things:

  • The dates are 2/8, 2/15, 3/1 and 3/8…all Tuesdays…from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. Participants must commit to all four dates.

  • The workshop is intended for middle and high school educators.

  • Per session is available to eligible participants.

  • Spaces are reserved from educators affiliated with several different DOE programs and we will allocate spaces on a first come, first serve basis by program. If you aren’t affiliated with any of these programs, we still encourage you to apply if you are otherwise eligible.

  • Seats will be offered on a first come, first serve basis **by program**. We will do our best to accommodate every eligible educator if we are able. We will follow up shortly with a link to register for the series through Facing History and Ourselves.

  • Each staff member must register individually.

  • We encourage administrators to apply with their teacher colleagues, where possible
