Social-emotional learning is not only critical to student success in challenging courses, but it is also a valued indicator in the CR-SE Framework. However, there can be confusion in how to bridge SEL with rigorous content. In this session, teachers will review the 5 SEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills) and ground their understanding of that skill in their own AP content and with their own unique students. Then, they will learn one strategy per skill that they can immediately bring back to their class.
