Supporting Diasporic Indigenous Students’ Success in U.S. schools – Dr. Luis Javier Pentón Herrera
In this conversation, I share my story of learning about and from my Indigenous students from Latin America in our classroom. For this, I begin our conversation with a short vignette of a transformational event in my teaching career, followed by an overview of Indigenous languages and communities in Latin America. I’ll end the conversation with lessons learned when supporting my Indigenous students in Spanish and English classrooms.
