CRSE in Science Spaces Session 1

October 19, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Culturally Relevant Teaching is a mindset shift that requires that educators be in vibrant conversations with students too. Educators will not always be privy to the inner workings of your students’ cultures; this is why collaborative planning is essential.

Participants in the asynchronous CRSE activity will:

📕 Learn what is important to students

🌍 Understand what is most relevant in their students communities

📶 Make meaningful connections between science content and students’ lived experiences

As such, we are excited to invite you to collaborate with us by inviting science teachers in your superintendencies to participate. We hope to host 50 teachers in the first cycle and another 50 in the upcoming Spring Term with both science and social sciences teachers.

The workshops will feature a combination of asynchronous, synchronous, virtual, and in-person sessions to allow multiple entry points based on varied learning styles, preferences, and level of racial and cultural awareness.
